ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — Heavy rainfall on Monday resulted in three separate sewage overflows in the city of Robertsdale. According to releases issued by the Baldwin County Health Department, the city reported overflow at the lift station located at 22891 College St., resulting in between 100,000 and 1 million gallons being discharged into Rock Creek.

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Baldwin County Deputy Sgt. Benjamin Burke doesn’t believe his duty as a law enforcement officer ends when he takes off his badge and gun. ”When I go home, I’m still a deputy sheriff,” he said. “I still have to act in that capacity. I still have to act when I see something whether I am wearing my flip flops and my shorts headed to the beach or whether I am wearing my badge and in my patrol car.”

Flood Waters and Rescued Goats in Baldwin

As water rose overnight looking for a dry spot was harder for some than others. “The property hasn’t done this since Hurricane Ivan,” says Silverhill Police Chief Kim Wasden. In Silverhill, a call for help as dozens of goats were left stranded in a flooded field some up to their necks in water. Their owner is hospitalized in Georgia.

GULF SH0RES, AL – Orange Beach officials want to own and operate their own school system separate from Baldwin County Schools. Gulf Shores officials want their own new school, but staying within the framework of the county system. What they both really want, Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft said, is the same thing.
