Gulf Shores Police are still investigating a shooting that happened Wednesday night, April 16, just after 10 p.m. at the public beach access. It happened at East Gulf Place, the parking lot behind the Hangout, near the corner of Highway 59 and Beach Boulevard.

Surveillance video shows a black Dodge truck traveling south on Highway 59 Wednesday afternoon as police chase Steven Little. Seconds later the truck comes speeding back up the highway, this time traveling north. ”There was a black truck being chased around the culdesac here by the police. He went around a couple of times,” says Lorna Nichols.

Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon said he was made aware of details of the plan on Monday, but was disappointed he or other OrangeB each officials weren’t in on the talks or planning for a new facility.
“I don’t know how to comment because we were not included in the discussion about the so-called Orange Beach-Gulf Shores High School,” Kennon said. “We were not involved in the planning. A Milton man and land-based shark fisherman believes he and his cousin may have reeled in their latest world record catch last night. Earnie Polk, 43, claims he and Joey Polk caught an 11-foot-long, 805-pound shortfin mako shark off of a Gulf Coast beach last night. He said they hooked the shark at about 10:30 p.m., and it took about an hour to bring the beast to shore.
