    Communities along the Gulf Coast from Navarre to Orange Beach are anticipating the return of the Blue Angels from their winter training base in California to NAS Pensacola. We’re expecting the Blue Angel's first possible Beach Buzz of the 2024 season to take place mid-afternoon today. This event marks the beginning of Beach Buzz season each year.

    Gulf Shores City Hall

    Baldwin County Sewer Service (BCSS) will go before the Gulf Shores City Council tonight to ask for a conditional use permit to add a second sludge pond at its facility on Fort Morgan Road. The company has been before the council and planning commission several times since it was discovered BCSS added and was using a second sludge already despite not asking for or receiving the proper permitting. BCSS is in Gulf Shores, but most of its service areas are in other parts of south Baldwin County.
    New Developments on Agenda for Foley City Council Meeting

    The Foley City Council will meet in a joint work/regular session on March 18 at 4 p.m. in council chambers at city hall. During the meeting, the council will: Conduct a public hearing on an ordinance change to update the flood prevention codes to meet new FEMA standards. There will also be an introduction of the ordinance.
    New Beach Parking Passes for Orange Beach Residents Announced

    The City of Orange Beach has introduced a new resident beach access parking program, beginning now. Specifically designed for residents who live within the city limits of Orange Beach, this program provides access to the City Beach by providing eligible residents with a pass for parking. Situated at 25700 Perdido Beach Blvd., just to the east of the CoastAL Restaurant, this program is for those with a valid Alabama driver’s license with an Orange Beach address. The City of Orange Beach has provided the information below regarding the new Beach Pass Program.
    Foley Plans Parking Improvements at Event Center & Sports Tourism Complex

    Visitors to the Foley Event Center and the Sports Tourism Complex will have improved parking under plans approved by the Foley City Council. The projects include paving current parking sites and adding more spaces for vehicles.

This nomination places Orange Beach in the spotlight, inviting both residents and visitors to participate in the online voting process. Voting for the Best Small-Town Food Scene category is currently open and will conclude at noon on Monday, April 1. Supporters can cast their vote once per day, per device, including smartphones, tablets, and computers.
